‘RVBusiness’ Magazine Postpones Popular Top 50 Dealer Awards

Now that the Recreation Vehicle Dealers Association (RVDA) and RVDA of Canada have gone public with plans to transition November’s annual RV Dealers Convention/Expo into a virtual event now scheduled for Nov. 9-20, RVBusiness (RVB) magazine’s staff has been freed up to publicly address what has become all too obvious for U.S. and Canadian dealers who have participated annually in the RVBusiness Top 50 Dealer Awards.

“We’ve had no choice but to forestall the whole Top 50 process this year – no small thanks to the same global pandemic that has stepped on countless events large and small over the past few months from social gatherings to major league sports and political conventions,” RVB Publisher Sherm Goldenberg said today (Aug. 21) in a statement.

“Having said that,” he added, “we apologize for our silence over the past few months as we worked unsuccessfully to develop viable alternative plans for ourselves and our long-term allies at RVDA with whom RVBusiness has co-sponsored an annual Con/Expo awards reception for years, first as an extension of California-based TL Enterprises Inc. and, later, as RVBusiness publisher G&G Media Group LLC.”

Goldenberg said that RVB, which has partnered since the beginning with Elkhart-based agency BJ Thompson Associates and a number of loyal sponsors to promote the unique, bar-raising, industry-wide Top 50 program, is committed to supporting the U.S. and Canadian RVDAs as they work to assemble November’s upcoming virtual Con/Expo and next year as well when, presumably, the pandemic passes and the RVBusiness Top 50 Dealer Awards are back on the industry’s front burner.
